Our love for lasertag started in the 90s and has resulted in a long career in lasergame development. Since its founding in 2012, UltraTag Lasergames is leading in hardware and software for lasertag venues, FEC and indoor playgrounds.

Built from passion for the game
UltraTag Lasergames was founded in The Netherlands in 2012 by Tim van der Weijden, driven by a passion for lasertag and years of experience in the industry. After working on lasertag products for other companies, it was time to build our own system the way we wanted to.
Stable, strong and robust
What frustrated us in the market was simple: poor service and electronics and hardware that weren’t designed with real-life use in mind. That creates stress for venue owners: if the system fails, you can’t deliver the experience your customers paid for. That’s why we built UltraTag the way we believed lasertag systems should be: strong, stable, robust and easy to operate.
Innovating the laser tag business
In 2012, UltraTag version 1 was developed as a prototype and used for years. In 2016, version 2 followed – and it’s still running today, a testament to the durability of our products, while we keep innovating our systems.
With MiniTag (developed in 2016, launched in 2017), we expanded the market: from full-scale Family Entertainment Centers and lasertag arenas to family and kids concepts, with the same focus on durability and reliability. We are proud that now over 90 venues all over Europe use UltraTag vests & MiniTag guns every single day.

Our milestones
A new laser tag business is born. Tim van der Weijden starts UltraTag Lasergames in 2012 in Zaandam, The Netherlands, with years of experiencing in the industry. Later that year, UltraTag Version 1 is released and rolled out to our first clients.
After succesfully onboarding the first clients and thoroughly testing the first UltraTag software and hardware, the improved Version 2 is released on the market. This software is still running today – a testament to the durability and quality of our system, while we keep innovating our hardware and software.
After the succesful release of the UltraTag vests and guns, we start developing the MiniTag gun for kids. With the release of MiniTag in 2017, our market expanded quickly from FEC and laser tag arenas to indoor play facilities.
Because business is growing fast, we move our offices from Zaandam to Purmerend, The Netherlands. In this new office space production, development and operations all come together.
2019 is the first year we attended the IAAPA with our own booth. Since then, you can find our UltraTag Lasergames booth on any European edition of the IAAPA. An ideal opportunity to connect and test our products on location.
France is the eight country to open a laser tag venue powered by UltraTag Lasergames, after The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Romania.
In the same year, we installed the 50th MiniTag setup.
